Canine Good Citizen (CGC)
-Bronze Level-

The Canine Good Citizen is a program teaching your dog good and real life skills.  We practice these set of skills to make the basic behaviours reliable when out and about in public.  The CGC program has 3 levels, bronze, silver and gold.  In this CGC Bronze course we will only be focusing and teaching the bronze level skills.

What you will do in this course?

Explain, teach and practice the CGC Bronze level;
> Accepting a stranger
> Groom
> Putting on a collar & lead
> Present for examination on lead
> Praise/presentation
> Release from lead, play with or without a toy, recall & attach lead
> Walk on lead without distractions
> Walk on lead passing through a door
> Reactions to another dog
> Walk on lead passing people & dogs
> Reaction to distractions
> Lie down & stay on command
> Supervised isolation

Duration and costs of course

 This is a 6 week course @ R450 for the course. For 2 dogs in the same family is R600 for the course (R300 per dog).
Classes are on Saturdays and each lesson is about 45mins long. 

Type and age of dog

 All breeds & mixed breed dogs are welcome. This course is for dogs 6 months and older.
All dogs must have at least completed the Basic Home Obedience course to be able to attend the CGC Bronze course. 
We regret no aggressive or reactive dogs in this training class. 
Your dog's vaccinations, tick & flea treatment and deworming must be up to date. (Although not compulsory, we do advise that your dog has the Kennel Cough vaccination as well.)
